We are thrilled about this first comic working with Coach CK from People Impact. The comic was inspired by Coach CK’s actual conversation with one of his students. We will be adding a new Comic menu soon!

The comic focuses on a rebellious adolescent girl who feels depressed due to not having friends at school. She tries to share it with her mother but instead, her mother turns everything into a lecture and does this every time. Coach CK revealed that the student shared and claimed her only friend is a bot chatting mobile app to which she “talks” most of the time.

The irony lies in the phrase “Are you listening?” that is typically directed at children when the parents are the ones that need to listen more attentively. The illustrations in the comic aim to convey raw emotions and complexities of the relationship between the girl and her mother. It emphasizes the need for open communication, empathy, and understanding.

We’ve found great joy in bringing this scenario to life and hope it can foster empathy, understanding, and growth. We can’t wait to work on the next one, and we hope that our comic will touch readers’ hearts and inspire meaningful conversations in families.
